Isaac’s Bar Mitzvah at the Western Wall

When a boy becomes a man…

When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. (1 Cor. 13:11 )

Isaac becomes a man

This month we had the extreme privilege and honor to celebrate our son Isaac’s Bar Mitzvah at the Western Wall in Jerusalem. The Bar Mitzvah is a milestone in Jewish life. It not only tells the world that the child has reached the age of taking greater responsibility for his actions, it strengthens his identity as a Jew and (in Isaac’s case) as a believer in Yeshua.

Bar Mitzvah literally means son of commandment and we personally interpret this as our son’s “confirmation” as a believer in Messiah of his own free will and conscience.

Here at our FZS warehouse center in Jerusalem, we are continuing our outreach ministry with the distribution of clothing and necessities from the aid we received from Germany. We are so thankful for these containers that allow us the opportunity of blessing so many in need both physically and spiritually. Luda, our clothing distribution manager, tells us that we have distributed almost ¾ of the 40 ft. container and we are almost ready to receive another container before the end of the year. Our next shipment will be coming from a Christian organization in the UK called, International Aid Trust. Please pray for a fruitful shipment of quality clothing and all of the finances needed to cover the shipping and customs fees.

Visiting Holocaust survivors in Jerusalem

I recently had the privilege to make several home visits with Holocaust Survivors in Jerusalem with a dear Swiss sister named Gaby who came to volunteer with us at FZS. Along with encouragement and prayer, we were also able to bring financial blessings to these needy Survivors…

FZS Support for Myanmar

Dear Friends at FZS,

Thanks for your mindful prayer for Myanmar Bryce Home ministry. We have just finished our Salvation camp at Shwelinpan Church. The Lord really blessed it and God draws the people’s attention to His Word, so they come to the church more and more on Sunday. Sometimes the space is not big enough for the congregation.

We have also been busy in relief activities in two different places after this year’s severe flooding at Hlesik village in the Delta area. There are some families who are related to our Shwelinpan church member families, and are now homeless. Through our friends, we were able to help all the villagers by distributing 75 small bags of rice, beans and cooking oil. Khuasik and Habakkuk shared the Gospel first and then shared the gifts you helped sponsor.

Thank you very much for your prayers and help to us!!!

Beslan, Russia Outreach Update:

Here also is Edik, myself, Jason and Zina. Edik was a hostage, along with his younger twin brother, Erik, at the age of 12. Only Edik survived. The Varziev family treated us very kindly to a delicious lunch, and Zina shared her heart openly. It was a very powerful time which we shared together and it seems that although they are still grieving the loss of their son, this family can hope and trust in The Lord.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support to FZS!
