FZS Winter Update after 450+ Days of WAR

IDF Reserve Soldier Spending Precious Time with his Children Overlooking the Old City of Jerusalem

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a
harvest if we do not give up…” (Gal. 5:9)

Dear Friends of Zion,

We are happy to bring you up to date on all of the different outreach opportunities we have engaged in during these last several months of unprecedented wartime events here at For Zion’s Sake Ministries in Jerusalem. Of course, our Clothing Distribution Center Outreach remains the bedrock of our activities and it continues in full swing as many Olim come to us for jackets, blankets, and warm clothing for the winter months, especially for the elderly. It is so important for us to have good quality aid to distribute to the needy because we also share the love of Yeshua, and what we give indirectly represents Him… Even if it’s only a “cup of cold water,” in His Name, we want it to be clean and refreshing!

FZS Giving Bread to the Hungry

Another really neat blessing is that we receive daily fresh sourdough bread from the bakery that shares the same property with us and also has a heart to bless the needy. We often have enough leftover to bring to senior homes around Jerusalem… Thank you FeinGold Bakery!!!

FZS Giving Our Wounded IDF Hero’s some much Needed Rest and Recovery

As some of you know, FZS has begun reaching out to the many, many wounded IDF soldiers (some of whom we have visited in hospitals) by hosting them for a week of rest, recovery and healing in the beautiful Swiss Alps. By God’s Grace we were able to host 3 groups in the summer of 2024, and we already have organized our next 4 groups who will be with us in January, February, March, and April of 2025. Thank you for your prayers for these upcoming outreaches and the special times we will share together with them!

Judean Desert Jeep Tours for Wounded IDF Soldiers

In the meantime, we have also begun organizing Judean Desert Tours in Israel for those who are not able to travel. We have already sponsored our first group of soldiers still in recovery with 3 days and 2 nights out in the Negev Desert with experienced guides to lead them. They camped, swam, hiked and explored as best as they could in hidden oases only accessible by 4×4 Jeeps.

FZS Begins Rebuilding Project to Help Restore Kibbutz “Kfar Aza” in what the Locust has Eaten…

FZS has teamed up with another local NGO who is committed to rebuilding houses in Kibbutz Kfar Aza that were destroyed during the October 7th massacre. Of the 700 residents, 64 people were brutally murdered – some still in their beds sleeping, and 19 were taken hostage to Gaza where they remain until today… FZS was blessed to visit Kfar Aza and donate $7k for material needed for the rebuilding of several houses.

FZS Reaching out to our Dear Surviving Friends of the Holocaust

WE MUST NEVER FORGET THEM!!! So we recently gathered 12 of our dear Holocaust Surviving Friends at our FZS Fellowship Hall in Jerusalem for an afternoon with some brave Christian pilgrims who came to show their support for Israel during these difficult times. It was a sweet time of fellowship as some of the Survivors shared their testimonies of how they made it out of the concentration camps and Ghettos. So much love was shared and it was a blessing for all of us!

In closing, we realize that without the LORD’s blessings of open doors, and your prayers for protection and support, none of this would be possible! So here, at the close of 2024, we at FZS pray Blessings over you and yours as we enter the New Year! Together we will, with godly hope and expectancy, believe that HIS coming is very near, even at the Door… May we all be found worthy and ready to meet HIM as we say, “Baruch haba be’Shem Adonai” (Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD)!

Thank you for standing with Israel in our time of need!
