The LORD speaks to us in Isaiah 55:13 regarding the land of Israel, “Instead of the thorn bush the cypress will come up, and instead of the nettle the myrtle will come up, and it will be a memorial to the LORD, for an everlasting sign which will not be cut off.”
As this prophesy is being fulfilled before our eyes, you can be a part of it by planting a tree in Israel. For a donation of $15 to For Zion’s Sake a tree is planted in one of Israel’s growing forests.
Many donate trees as gifts for holidays and special occasions, some as memorials for loved ones, and others simply for the joy of blessing Israel. Donors will receive a certificate for each tree that is planted, which will include the donor’s name, occasion for the gift, and the tree’s location. (See the example below.) Additionally, when planting a tree through For Zion’s Sake, part of the donation goes directly to help the overwhelming financial and physical needs of the Olim (new immigrants returning home from the Diaspora).
